CFO, Perla Mexican Cuisine

Where were you born?
A: I was born in Michoacán, Mexico, and I’ve proudly called Santa Ana home for the past 16 years.

Q: What inspired you to open your business?
A: I wanted to bring something truly special to the community—flavors inspired by my mom’s cooking and the traditional dishes I grew up with. Her recipes and passion for food motivate everything we do.

Q: What is something most people don’t know about you?
A: I’m actually a horseback rider! I was also Reina del Lienzo Charro in Michoacán, an honor given to a young woman who represents the traditions of charrería—Mexico’s national equestrian sport. The title celebrates cultural heritage, horsemanship, and community pride. It’s a meaningful part of my story and something I carry with me always.

Q: What is unique about your business?
A: We offer a one-of-a-kind culinary experience. My mom prepares every dish with authentic flavors from home, and we pair that with a warm atmosphere, intentional details, and high-quality food and drinks.

Q: What recommendation do you have for visitors?
A: If you’re visiting Santa Ana, make sure to explore Downtown Santa Ana. It’s filled with history, beautiful architecture, cozy coffee shops, and amazing spots for brunch, breakfast, lunch, or dinner. And don’t miss La Michoacana Express for ice cream—it’s a must while you're here.
