Musician, Ali Coyle Music
Q: Where were you born?
A: I was born and raised in Orange County.
Q: What is something most people don’t know about you?
A: A favorite movie of mine is the 1986 cult classic Labyrinth.
Q: How did you begin your career as a musician?
A: I have always gravitated towards music since I was very young. I started playing violin in elementary school and really found my love for songwriting once I picked up a guitar around the age of 12. As a teenager in bands, I began to learn about the music business, and how to eventually carve a path for myself as an independent artist.
Q: What is unique about your style of music?
A: I love layering vocals and percussive textures and weaving a mix of organic and electric sounds around loopy riffs and beats. There is a gentle strength behind my voice and lyrics that comes from connecting my personal struggles to that of Irish and queer history. I feel proud to be represented in the movement forward and hope to convey a message of empowerment, solidarity, and celebration in being true to yourself
Q: What recommendation do you have for visitors?
A: Check out any of the amazing one-of-a-kind shops and food stalls, as well as the various restaurants, bars, murals, museums, and even our own art-house movie theater (The Frida Cinema).
